The Manhattan Declaration

Although I am opposed to all that the signers of the Manhattan Declaration oppose, I will not be signing it for one simple reason. It gives credence to non-Christian organizations that are seemingly Christian.

How does it do that? It includes non-Christian organizations and calls them Christian.

Many people call their selves Christian. The Jehovah Witnesses, The Mormans, the Iglesia Ni Cristo are just three among many.

Now, if a house was on fire I would certainly work together with any of the aforementioned organizations to save the perishing. You might say, well this is the same situation and you would be right. Yet in that example situation we did not advertise ourselves as Christians saving people from the fire. We just went in and saved them.

Those who organized this group have done so as an attempt at ecumenical ism. This is just one more way they will try to get other groups to join together with Christians. A new world Church.

Had this organization declared a group of people with the same mind as to oppose abortion, same sex marriage and... I would have gladly signed.

We know how the world concludes. We see how there will be some who will try to promote the World Council of Churches and the like but they won't fool real Christians.

It is obvious what is happening here but thanks be to God we have His word to guide us.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

I have written to two groups, Focus on the family and Liberty Baptist, Jonathan Falwell and have received no answer.

The Bible says: 1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Without the benefit of an answer, I must assume they have no good reason.
